This week’s DFI session on Media was both engaging and practical, providing many useful ideas that can be applied directly in the classroom. I enjoyed learning about the process of creating YouTube channels and how they can be used as a platform for sharing student learning, instructional videos, and class projects in a safe and purposeful way.
The session also explored the use of Google Drawings and Google Slides as creative learning tools. Google Drawings can be used for designing posters, diagrams, infographics, and visual organisers, while Google Slides offers opportunities for students to present information, collaborate with others, and share their understanding in interactive ways. These tools encourage creativity, communication, and digital fluency across a range of curriculum areas.
Overall, the session reinforced the importance of integrating digital technologies meaningfully into teaching and learning. These tools can increase student engagement, support collaboration, and provide authentic opportunities for students to create, communicate, and share their learning with wider audiences.

YouTube playlists can be very worthwhile for a number of activities in class, knowing your students some of them would really benefit from the rewindable nature of them, and if you could find them in their native languages as well – how awesome would that be!
Google Drawings and Google Slides are both great ways for students to express their creativity, as yours have in the past, but I guarantee them you doing something with them will spark more interest as well.
